24 Hours of Prayer

Our first major event as a Pro Life group happened this past weekend. We began on the Memorial of the Guardian Angels with the usual 7am Mass. After Mass we moved to the main church to begin 24 hour Adoration and Rosary.

I continue to be humbled by the very generous and loving people of this parish. All through the day and night and next morning we came to offer our prayers to end abortion, for forgiveness and healing for women and men who made that terrible choice and now regret it, and we even prayed for the abortionists that God Almighty will touch their hearts and show them the evil of what they do.

24 hours of intense, devoted, prayer. That is powerful stuff. I would like to thank everyone who came to keep vigil for the unborn and especially those who volunteered as Rosary leaders.

I think the words of our beloved Pope John Paul II are perfect
"To be actively pro-life is to contribute to the renewal of society through the promotion of the common good. It is impossible to further the common good without acknowledging and defending the right to life, upon which all the other inalienable rights of individuals are founded and from which they develop." ~ Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life,
