What is the Spiritual Adoption Project?

9-Month Spiritual Adoption Project
Sponsored by the Immaculate Conception Pro-Life Committee

Purpose

The purpose of this project is twofold: First, to encourage participants to utilize prayer on a frequent and regular basis to combat the evil of abortion; and, second, to provide participants with education & information about this issue.

Why Is It Important?

Since 1973, in the United States alone, more than 50 million innocent lives have been lost because of legalized abortion-on-demand. One-third of a generation is missing in our country, and the impact of this affects every aspect of our lives.
In addition to the physical loss of lives, there exists the devastation to the emotional, psychological, and spiritual lives of millions of women and men who very often regret their abortion decisions.
We live in a culture that has become so desensitized to the inherent evil of this practice that it no longer seems capable of distinguishing between what is morally good or bad for society.

How Do You Participate in the Project?

Over the next 9 months, participants are asked to pray daily for a baby that is in danger of being aborted, and also to pray for the mother of that baby.
Even though you will be praying for someone unknown to you, we believe that God hears our prayers and answers them. We suggest that you give your spiritually adopted baby a name to make him or her more real to you.
During the 9 months of “pregnancy”, we will provide information on how your baby is growing & developing. We will also supply ideas and resources to support you in your spiritual adoption.
