A few Thoughts about Dr. Tiller

Even though Dr. Tiller's actions were hideous and appalling to me, he did not deserve to be murdered. I am sure we all can agree and have enormous compassion for the grief and horror his wife must have felt, to see her husband gunned down in church. I invite you all to pray for Dr. Tiller and his family. Personally it is hard for me to pray for him, but I consider it a special act of love to pray for a man, who during his life was so clearly my enemy. If I am going to talk the talk, then I must walk the walk.

I like what Fr. Pavone had to say:

The Killing of George Tiller May 31st, 2009
I am saddened to hear of the killing of George Tiller this morning. At this point, we do not know the motives of this act, or who is behind it, whether an angry post-abortive man or woman, or a misguided activist, or an enemy within the abortion industry, or a political enemy frustrated with the way Tiller has escaped prosecution. We should not jump to conclusions or rush to judgment.

But whatever the motives, we at Priests for Life continue to insist on a culture in which violence is never seen as the solution to any problem. Every life has to be protected, without regard to their age or views or actions.
Priests for Life Declaration on Non-Violence

--------------------------------------------------------
In the coming days we --the pro-life people--will ALL be painted as extremists and terrorists. The mainstream media is going to use this event to try to build overwhelming pressure on us to keep silent out of fear of being viewed as "one of them" We must not let this happen to us, we must continue to simply speak the truth with as much love and compassion as we can muster.

We are the only voice the unborn have and we must not let our courage fail them. If our courage fails, then evil wins.

Peace be with you and may the Holy Spirit continue to guide our lives.

Meeting Notes May 26

Met to discuss our continuing plans for the next several months:
* Nine months project--start August 30 --- May. Will make bulletin and in church announcements during middle of August.

* Baby shower for our spiritual babies in December--ask for diapers 3-4 size and formula--will donate to Caring Choices.

* Rosary/Adoration is approved by Fr. Ed. So, in July we will begin making announcements for that event every two weeks as reminders. I will have a sign up sheet to place in the office.

* Discussed the need to be involved with Caring Choices--possibly have the director attend a meeting.

Next meeting June 16.

p.s. next time I will post the updates sooner. My apologies for taking so long. I will see everyone when I get back. God bless and keep you all safe.
